You cannot value your life while subconsciously trying to preserve it. Life is a gift that God has given you.
Fear will speak a thousand volumes into your thoughts daily…
Anxiety will attempt to control your everyday decisions…
But pride, this will sneak up on you like the devil himself.
“Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
I Peter 5:5-11 NKJV
Pride is the opposite of humility or humbleness. Pride is the rebelliousness to being submissive to Gods Word. Being submissive doesn’t mean that you are entrapped in a negative way. It is to be humbly obedient to what God has spoken to you. It is to be patient and yielding to Gods instructions.
In the matter of life’s circumstance, we should trust that Gods instructions are more valuable than our own.
“By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom.”
Proverbs 13:10 NKJV
Hi Rebecca. I liked your article on What Does it Mean that 'Perfect Love Casts out Fear'.
Yes...God is Love!
Thanks for that article. I have had many discussions lately with some Christians that seem to emphasize fear, when, in fact, Jesus came out of Love as your article alludes to.
